Tailored Professional Grooming Services
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) recommends frequent and routine grooming to promote healthy skin and coats, well-kept nails, fewer ear infections, decreased shedding, and of course, a happy pet.
Please respect your grooming appointment time! Being late by just 15 minutes can result in the need to reschedule.
FAQS
A bath and haircut/bath and brush/bath and trim will take anywhere between 1 - 2 hours. We try to get every pet finished in a timely manner according to each individual pet's needs and tolerance levels. An appointment is a spot in line and if a pet ahead of yours in line (or your own pet) takes longer than expected it can delay the completion of the pets after it. We promise we are going as fast as we can as safely as possible.
We recommend contacting us at least a couple of days before your desired appointment date. Many clients find it easier to pre-book their next appointment (or the next several appointments) during pick-up from their current appointment
Several factors determine how we handle a matted coat. Depending on the severity/location of the matting your groomer will decide the necessary plan of action that keeps your pet as safe and happy as possible while also determining the cost of removal. Here at Cutepetsbysteph there are 3 generalized tiers of matting: Knotty, Matted, and Pelted. Knotty coats have a couple of tangles/very small mats that are removable through brushing or spot shaving, knotty coats have a $5 knotty fee. Matted coats have many tangles/mats that are in more than one area are not removable via brushing and must be shaved out with a #10 blade, matted coats have a $10 matted fee. Pelted coats are one connected mat that can vary in coverage/area on a pet's body and must be shaved out with a #10 blade, pelted coats have a $20 pelted fee.
We recommend waiting until your puppy is around 2-3 months old; having your vet clear them for grooming is the best way to know for sure! The sooner your puppy gets in the salon the easier it is for them to get used to the grooming process. A bath or bath and trim is recommended for the first 1-3 services depending on your puppy’s progress/desensitization for grooming.
No, we do not recommend staying and watching your pet be groomed. Getting groomed is already very stressful for your pet and knowing their owners are there will drastically change their behavior and tolerance for grooming. In addition, we ask that owners not stop by or physically check up on their pets during their grooming. Once your pet sees or hears you they are no longer tolerant of grooming and their groom will be deemed unsafe to finish. As soon as your pet is almost finished we will call/text the owners and let them know they can come get their fur baby to ensure a safe and happy pet during pick up.
Yes, dogs at CPBS are done straight through so the only time your pet will be in their kennel is prior to pick up.
